HOOGWATERGEUL VOOR DE IJSSEL

The new book regarding the Hoogwatergeul Veessen-Wapenveld is the biggest landscape intervention of the Dutch national flood-prevention program 'Room for the river'.

For this project, Denis worked in collaboration with Waterboard Vallei en Veluwe, ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles] and Veenenbos en Bosch – Landscape Architects, documenting the complexity of the project during the last three years.

The book offers insights into the social and geographical context and the innovative approach of this landscape intervention.

THE RE-USE ATLAS

A DESIGNER’S GUIDE TOWARDS A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Denis's work is featured in this amazing book by Duncan Baker-Brown, who takes the reader on a journey via four distinct ‘steps’: recycling, reuse, reduce, closed-loop, from a linear economy toward a system emulating the natural world, i.e, a circular economy.

RESOURCE SALVATION

The Architecture of Reuse

Another compelling book, by Mark Gorgolewski, features Denis's work. Mounting resource shortages worldwide coupled with skyrocketing extraction costs for new materials have made the prospect of materials reuse and recycling an issue of paramount importance. The book is a valuable source of information, insight, and fresh ideas about a crucial aspect of the growing sustainable design movement.

YOU ARE HERE

KunstLinie Almere

'You Are Here’ is an interactive installation that displays Almere's city map on touch-screens; developed for Kunstlinie Almere, It allows the inhabitants of the city to virtually explore the ‘new town’ and the stories of the inhabitants. The interactive map has been divided by themes, city blocks, and historical periods: from pre-history to future urban and landscape developments.

A special thank you to Mrs Judith flapper for this amazing journey.
